Recommendations:
If the Mars Shell didn't have a lot of HP for this area, or its ability to divide after being hit, this would be a very simple battle. Although, this may also make it a battle to seek out. Since each enemy defeated awards experience, seeking out these battles, and forcing each shell to divide, will let you level faster. I wouldn't worry too much if you decide to just slam them with physical attacks as their own attacks are quite average.
On Hard and Nightmare: Due to its high strength, I would recommend defeating them before they get into melee range. A single fire attack will be unlikely to defeat these creatures, so you may want to use only fire attacks against them. In the case that you want to let them divide to increase your experience and Sepith from the battle, spread out your attacks with each party member attacking a different enemy.
