Maintenance Chief Gustav is in charge of the technicians who maintain and install the orbal devices and engines.

Many of his repair and installation missions have such priority that crossing the kingdom by land is too slow. To rectify this, he flies to each location abord their airship, the Leibnitz. He also works with other older equipment and combustion engines, useful in areas where orbal equipment fails to run.

Unlike many of the others in Zeiss, he still has great respect for Professor Russell, regardless of his mishaps and decissions.
