The Lighthouse Monsters will be your first side-quest of Chapter 2, and is very difficult to miss on your journey down the Minoria Byroad. It expires once you enter the Jenis Royal Academy.

We found Vogt standing outside the entrance to the Varenne Lighthouse.

He looked worried.

1. Some monsters seem to have gotten into the lighthouse.
2. We couldn't just leave the situation be, so we decided to do some exterminating!
3. There seem to be more than just a few monsters inside, so we'll need to be very careful!
4. We took care of all the monsters in the lighthouse!

If you do this when completing Maintenance Delivery, it will combine with that quest, and add new cutscenes that are unavailable if doing both seperately.

As you journey south from the Krone Pass via the Manoria Byroad you will come to a fork in the road where the western path takes you to the Varenne Lighthouse. As you approach the lighthouse you will find Vogt just outside. After talking to him, head inside the lighthouse to clear out the enemies on each floor.

Use extreme caution as you head up this lighthouse as the enemies here are no pushovers. Unlike the Hammerheads fought in the nearby areas, the Red Hammerheads hit harder, have over twice the defense, and more HP. I would highly recommend using non-water arts to take them out faster and healing after almost every fight.

If you find the fights too challenging, especially on harder difficulties, you can come back later with more party members. It is available throughout the first part of this chapter, so there is no rush.

Once you get to Vogt's home on the top of the lighthouse you can return to him at the entrance.

You will be able to report this quest complete once you finally reach the City of Ruan later in the chapter.
