The Untamed Wilderness

The Northern Wilderness is a rugged crossroads where several major routes meet. Travellers from Arnika Road, the Umpani Base Camp near Mt. Gigas, and the Mountain Wilderness all pass through this wild region. Winding paths, thick undergrowth, rough terrain, the roar of the northern river, and waves crashing against the eastern cliffs make it a stunning place—if only it weren't full of dangerous creatures

To the north, a massive metal bridge stands out in the landscape. This structure of steel and rivets leads straight to the clearing at the base of Mt. Gigas, where the Umpani have built their fortified base. To the east, a long wooden rope bridge crosses the northern tip of the sea, swaying gently above the churning waters. Anyone hoping to enter the Mountain Wilderness must first face the Marble Golem, a towering figure carved from living stone. No one knows why it guards the bridge, but travellers should see it as a warning of the dangers that await beyond.

Beware of the Battering Hogar's Hidden Den

Travel near the mountain face in the southeastern area is not recommended. A Battering Hogar, a fiercely territorial beast, inhabits a cave here. It has attacked many who strayed too close. Hunters have been dispatched, but few survived to tell of the creature's existence. One disgraced hunter returned with tales of a vast stash of items scavenged from unfortunate wanderers. Though the cave is easy to overlook, those who dare to wander too close may not live to confirm if the tales of treasure are true. You will know you are close if you spot the Long Bow the hunter lost when fleeing the area.
