Wizardry 8: Mt. Gigas Peak Map

The Mt. Gigas Peak stands high above the rough slopes of the mountain and is the most secure area under Umpani control. Only elite I.U.F. operatives with top clearance can reach it through the Top Level Security Passage. The air is thin, the winds are strong, and advanced surveillance systems watch every part of the plateau.

The main feature of the plateau is the fortified landing port, built to handle critical transports and dispatch quick-response teams. A large safety cable keeps ships from sliding off the pad and hitting other dangerous equipment. Close by, launch platforms hold the Umpani's missiles, ready to track and destroy enemy ships in orbit.

The Landing Port Control Building overlooks the landing pad. It is small but well protected, with a command room that has large glass windows. From inside, Umpani technicians stay in touch with ships in orbit, guide landings, watch for threats, and send tactical information to the EWAXX systems deeper in the mountain. On top of the building is a high-resolution telescope that can track orbital movements with great accuracy. Next to it, a satellite dish keeps the base connected to Umpani fleets throughout the sector.
