"Ladies of the Night" Walkthrough
Use the compass icon on the right to open the navigation menu.
For each investigation, hover over or tap the items below the scene to reveal their location.
Rotes Kelid Hotel
"Ladies of the Night" begins just weeks after the events of the Dada Killer, with Anna and Sven discussing her next extensive article. Did she get this idea after glancing at the hotel's guest list near the end of the last chapter?
Leave his office, then grab her notepad for the address of the Rotes Kelid Hotel, opposite the typewriter of Amy, the kitten she gave poor Judit. The kitty tells her owner that she has missed a feeding. Help Anna check her things for some milk.
Collectables available in this section: Schaffhausen, Zürich
Pour some milk into the bowl on the left side, then leave Anna's office to bump into Hilda, whom Sven still uses as his intern instead of a reporter. Venture outside and jump into the car to arrive outside the police station. Walk down the Boulevard, turn left into the Red Light District, then stride into the Rotes Kleid Hotel.
Collectables available in this section: Lugano, St. Gallen
It appears that the hotel's receptionist has stepped away. Continue upstairs, where Anna will collide with a man who deposits some odd dark residue onto her sleeve. The accident also caused her notepad to go flying. Search the corridor for it.
Now that she remembers where to meet Susi, walk into Room 5, which just happens to be next to the murder room from the previous chapter. Susi appears to be away, but the door is unlocked. Enter the bathroom and look for something to clean Anna's sleeve while waiting.
Examine the sink, turn on the left tap, then dunk the towel in the water. Grab the Wet Towel, then clean the dirty handprint from Anna's sleeve with the towel. Leave the bathroom and look through Susi's things while Anna waits.
Did our interviewee get called to another meeting? Return to the Corridor and venture downstairs, where the receptionist has returned. Hand her the Notepad to learn Susi may be on the Boulevard. Back out into the Redlight District, then again into the Boulevard, where a police incident has occurred.
Murder on the Boulevard
Noah, a new officer, and his superior Ulli, now sporting a mustache, discovered a nearby murder. While the young officer tries to keep the civilians away, Anna investigates the area to help the police uncover what had happened.
Gustav Meisner was here? It may be a coincidence, but hand the hair clippers to Ulli. While inspecting the body inside the ambulance, check out the knife, pocket, and holster visible from the jacket.
Once done with the victim, follow Ulli into the Backstreet, where Dierk is still reviewing the scene. Of course, Anna volunteers her fantastic ability to find clues where others cannot.
Collectable available in this section: Biel
The high heel indicates a woman was here recently and was rushing to flee. Could it be related? Dierk will provide a photo later, but Anna needs to return to interview if she can find Susi.
Back into the Boulevard, snap some photos for a possible future article, then return to the hotel to learn Susi has returned. Walk upstairs and into Room 5 again.
While waiting for her interviewee to freshen up, Anna notices that the heel of Susi's shoe appears broken. Check the high heels on the floor and match the heel to the shoe to confirm. What are the odds that the two cases intertwine?
Susi has left her bathrobe somewhere in her room, so we'll need to find it first.
Enter the bathroom and hand the lady her bathrobe, then return to the previous room for Anna to conduct the interview off-screen. Leave the hotel, where Anna gets accosted by some men, only for a mystery man to jump in and give Anna a chance to show the men her version of a "good time."
With the fools dealing with their pain, Anna can walk to the police station and go downstairs to see Dierk and Ulli working on the crime scene photos. Take the photograph from Dierk so Anna can use it in future interviews.

Return to Anna's Car to drive to Old Town, just outside the Knef Gallery. Take the pathway on the right side and proceed to the Cabaret Rousseau.
Collectables available in this section: Basel, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Lucerne
Sit next to Iris and give her the photo, only to learn nothing new, then be flung into piecing together a puzzle.

Iris typically leaves when the conversation gets serious, so grab the completed jigsaw puzzle and then check the bar area for more matches to compare to the ones we already found.
Oddly, the designs at the bar are different from the ones found at the latest crime scene. Put the matchbox back at the bar, then show the bartender the matches found earlier to learn that they are not from the club, or at least since the bartender has been here. Also, show the photograph to him to confirm that the victim has not been a recent patron.
Leave the cabaret to wrap up the busy day.
The Dada Connection
The new day begins with more demands from Sven, who appears to dislike cats. Leave Anna's office for Hilda to request a contribution to Sven's gift. Search the nearby storage room for the Confetti.
Achievement: If you pop the balloons attached to the gift on Hilda's desk, you can get a hidden Party Pooper achievement.
Place the Confetti in Hilda's waiting hand (how long can she hold her hand out like that?), then leave Eure Tages. Leap into the car to drive back to Old Town. This time, enter the Knef Gallery and Iris' Office, where Anna's arrival has disturbed a critical call.
Collectables available in this section: Fribourg, Geneva
Place the painting next to the others on the floor, then flip through the binder to find the same image on the matches. Since Iris takes longer than expected, Anna decides to snoop around more.
Has Iris hired a detective? Is that who we met the day before, or is that the victim? Perhaps Iris can provide answers. Show her the matchbox, then the newspaper, only to aggravate the gallery owner and almost get escorted out by security. Return to the car and drive to Utoquoi Street to visit the late judge's son.

It sounds like the grieving barber just happened to be there when the man collapsed outside. He may have a lead on a vehicle that was nearby. Help Gustav find his glasses in the mess.
Give the glasses back to the weary barber to obtain the Car Licence Number. Return to Anna's vehicle and drive back to the Police Station to speak to Ulli again. The man Anna met earlier is there, Max Frost. Shake the man's hand before he leaves, disappointed and rejected. After they swap details regarding the new case, follow Ulli to the Forensics Lab to learn of the latest discoveries.
Afterward, search the area to find the documents.
The primary item found is a cheque from Iris, linking her to the deceased man. Provide Ulli with the Licence Plate Number, but Anna must search the crude database herself to see if it has violated any laws.
Move the drawers using the spare space until everything is sorted by country flag and number.
Click here for a solution to the Drawers Puzzle.
The plate belongs to a Helmut Grass from Italy. Pass it to Ulli, who rushes to find the man. Anna recognizes the name from her adventures at the Hotel Reger and knows he is already deceased. Could this be the return of the organization that tried to "clean up" Anna and Otto? Before anyone can speculate further, a call comes in about a new murder.
A Death on Kurzgasse
Rush out of the Police Station, down the Boulevard, and then down Kurzgasse. Was't this the former residence of a Dada victim?
Collectables available in this section: Bern, Winterthur
Step inside to find the latest victim - someone we met earlier. How was this person in two places?
Dierk arrives just in time to collect the cartridge case. After some speculation, examine the chair, rope, and fingerprints on the right cabinet of the chair. There is more to this scene than first appears.
Return to Backstreet and check the likely contaminated and cleaned up former crime scene.
Give the Candlestick to Ulli to check for prints and blood. (It is starting to sound like Anna is in charge here!) Return to the hotel to check on Susi again to learn more about her twin.
Search the area for a notepad that may provide an address for her husband.
After finding the address, give the notepad to Ulli, then leave Susi. Anna remembered the article her boss ordered her to write, so rush back to Anna's desk at Eure Tages. Clack a few keys to write the article, then deliver it to Sven in his office to wrap up the day.
Iris Explains All
Anna decides to start the day by revisiting Iris, but her plans get sidetracked once she leaves her office. A cyclist got injured on Utoquai Street, so we must go there first. Leap into the car and check what is left to learn more.
Snap a couple of pictures, then drive to the hospital. Nurse Ernestine stops Anna before she gets too close. Hand the letter to the nurse, then leave - we got all the information we can.
Return to the press office and write the article. Present the completed article to Sven, who has been keeping Amy purring (I guess he likes cats, after all). Give him the article, then return to the car.
With the side project complete, drive to the Knef Gallery. Iris is not happy to see Anna, but after a strong warning from Anna, the conversation is allowed to continue. Hand her the check to confirm her involvement with their new case. Help her find the head of the bull so they can continue the conversation.
How could she not find something so massive? Attach the head to the bull statue, then find a way through the gallery with the giant artwork.
Move the pieces until the statue can pass straight through.
Click here for a solution for the bull statue puzzle.
Iris explains the situation, and the Dada book the stranger was interested in may shed clues about who it was.
Pass the book to Iris to learn more about the pages torn from the atlas and get the Dada Almanac. The woman who threatened Iris sounds familiar, almost as if all of Anna's enemies are teaming up. Leave the gallery and drive back to the station.
The Ugly Truth
At the station, Ulli picked up Susi for questioning. Enter the prison to briefly speak with Susi, then leave to search the hotel again. (No one is in the forensics lab, so rushing the almanac isn't happening now anyway.)
Leave the station, walk down the Boulevard and sneak down the Red-Light District to return to the hotel. Enter Room 5 again and search the place again.
Place the suitcase onto the bed, open the latch and examine it to learn that it is full of women's attire. The pair of tickets indicate someone was about to take a train ride. Get the photo from Ulli, then head into the bathroom to poke through the stuff there.
The evidence against Susi is piling up. Return to the police station for Johann to barge in - what perfect timing. After the excitement calms down, see Dierk in Forensics. Give him the handkerchief, then leave Ulli and recheck the home on Kurzgasse.
Leave the home and take a right onto Backstreet to bump into Max again. Search the area with or without his blessing.
Anna found a wallet with a photo of Oscar and what Max was looking for. Hand it over to him - maybe Max will help in later chapters.
Rush back to the Police Station. Hand Dierk, the crossword, then head into Ulli's office to find the reports. Ulli is much less organized than Judit, which is surprising considering how disorganized it was before. Help Ulli find them.
Return to Forensics and hand in the report to Dierk. The last step is to compare the writing styles.
Click here for the correct choices and responses.
After you solve the similarities, Dierk asks what questions you may need to look up the answers for, and even then - guess.
- Letters decreasing in size = Quick learner
- Letters are precise and distinct = A braggart
- Letters a and o are sometimes open, sometimes closed = Avoidant
- Ornate capitals = Self-assured
- Signature is expressive = Seeks praise
Return to Ulli's Office for Anna's tell-all of this chapter. Give Ulli the greeting card, the wedding photo, and the Dada Almanac. A final short scene will wrap up this chapter.
