"Atlantic Connection" Walkthrough

The Third Partner
Atlantic Connection begins with Anna working at the Eure Tages as she types out her story of the events at the Hotel Reger just shy of two months earlier. Pick up the ringing phone that interrupts her work to hear from an old friend back at the same hotel. Otto and Father Lenz are out of their side business, but it seems their third partner had other thoughts and has gone missing. Anna agrees to return to the hotel, which is about a day's drive from Zürich, but she needs to bring a few things along.
Take the Camera, Diary and Gloves from her desk, the Keys from the top of the filing cabinet, and the Map from the second drawer.

The drive up the mountains—of course, it is snowing again—is long enough for the sun to set before Anna arrives at the hotel. This time, Otto doesn't greet her outside. Step inside, where Otto and Father Lenz will welcome her and offer tea in the Hall. Anna would like to see the note that was left. Back out, go to Reception, and search for it.

Give the note to Otto so he can read it to you. After learning their last partner left quite the mess, walk upstairs, examine Room 5, use the key on the lock, and enter. Anna will immediately retire for the night.
The following morning, Anna wakes up late. Help her find her gloves, which she placed inside the dresser.

Room 5







Drag the gloves to Anna's reflection in the mirror to put them on, as well as her other winter attire, then leave the room a mess and go downstairs. Otto will invite Anna for breakfast when she reaches the main floor. Enter the Hall, where Otto and Father Lenz decide Anna needs to pour her own tea, even though she is the guest who is there to help them clean up their mess.
Examine the Tea Tray, then pour hot water from the teapot into the cup. Dunk the tea strainer, which rests in front of the pot, into the cup, add a handful of sugar, and stir it with the spoon. Take the cup to proceed to the scene where they describe Gerhard.
Gerhard's Secret
Now that you know the next steps, return upstairs and turn right toward Room 8. He placed a rope barrier before the door. Examine the rope, lift the hook, and then enter the room. Search around to find the Pry Bar.

Room 8




Now that we have the Pry Bar, we can open the small cabin north of the Hotel. Leave the building, turn left, and examine the gate. Pull the lock bolt below the lever left, then pull the handle to open the gate. Push forward toward the cabin to learn that the path needs shovelling again. Backtrack once to the gate, take the shovel near the sign and statue, and then return to Otto.
Otto will make the woman shovel the snow, so use the shovel on the snow that covers the path and toss it to either side. Three shovels will be enough to get to the cabin. Examine the door and use the Pry Bar to unseal it. Once the Pry Bar is in place, give them a few pulls to remove the boards.
When you enter the structure with Otto, you will find that it still has signs of the contraband. Search the wardrobe on the left for clues.
Cabin





Why would they have a Mate Cup? Who would use such a cup? Leave the cabin and backtrack to the Hotel. Turn right at the entrance, then left to go to the backyard.
Try to open the door, only to discover that it is locked. Examine it again and take the message. Give it to Otto, who will read the note to you. This doesn't sound good.
Rush back to the Hotel and enter. Go to the hall and look for the key in the corner cupboard.

Return to the cellar door where Otto waits. Examine the door and use the key on the lock. Enter the cellar, proceed through the door, and flip the light switch on the wall. Enter the next room, where someone pushed all the crates to block the path. You will need to move them around to proceed.

Poor Father Lenz. What a terrible way to send a warning. Were they waiting for him in the cellar? Search the area for clues; maybe someone left something behind.

Hand the likely murder weapon to Otto so he can add his fingerprints to it, too. Of course, Otto isn't willing to admit to the police that he and Father Lenz have been smuggling. Anna doesn't care, though, and drives to town. A large pile of snow is blocking her way forward, so try entering the Bar instead.
The place is locked, but Anna has a new lock-picking tool that will be useful. Move the pieces on the multi-key tool to match the gaps on the top. Pull the trigger on it when it's ready.

Once inside, search the bar for more clues.

Anna decides to return to the Hotel instead of trudging through the deep snow to get to the police. Leave the bar and enter the car to drive back. It is dark by the time she returns. Enter the Hotel, turn right to the Hall, enter the Fireplace Room and speak to Otto.
Otto decides to search Room 4 for the journal. Go upstairs, turn left and enter Room 4. Search the bookcase for the journal.

Room 4



Give the Journal to Otto, who would like to cross-check the dates with the Guest Book at Reception. Stroll downstairs, take a left, and search behind the counter for it.
Reception




Return to Otto, who is still in Room 4, and give him the Guest Book so you can compare it with the names in the journal. The names on the right are scrambled versions of the ones on the left. Match each one to solve the puzzle.

The journal has left more questions than answers. A good night's rest may help direct them to their next steps.
The Black Flag
Anna has an idea that may explain the previous day's discoveries, but she needs her map. Check the dresser for one.
Room 5





Leave Anna's Room and stroll downstairs to the Hall, where Otto is waiting. Anna needs a ruler to show Otto her suspicions. Check the cupboard behind him for one.
Hall




Place the map on the empty area of the table, then lay the ruler on the map. As Anna explains her suspicions, an unexpected acquaintance with a suspicious backstory enters the inn.
Leave the hotel and enter Anna's car again. The car door is frozen. Return to the Hall, borrow the Tea Pot from the table, and then return to the car again. Use the Tea Pot on the car door and enter. Anna will automatically return to town.
Enter the Bar to find it trashed, just as their new guest said. Search the corner for clues again.

Anna is satisfied with her discovery of the hat. Leave the bar and enter the car to return to the Hotel. Enter and stroll into the Hall where Otto is waiting. Give Otto the black flag, which triggers a memory of finding a similar flag. Leave the Hall and enter the Kitchen. Search the pantry for the flag.
Kitchen








Bring the second flag to the Hall and give it to Gerhard. He persistently explains that Otto has already lost the hotel, but Anna and Otto will not give up.
An Explosive Reveal
Leave the guest, walk upstairs, turn right, and enter Room 7. If the former guests met in this room, they may have left something helpful behind.

Room 7


Place the odd box Anna found on the stool next to Otto so she can try to open it. Swap the parts to unscramble the picture to open the box.
Click the solution to the puzzle box.

Why is there a fuse in the box? Give it to Otto. Room 2 may hold more answers, but they need the key from Reception. Stroll downstairs, examine the middle of the shelf, and take the key for Room 2. Back out to the lobby and examine the door to Room 2. Use the key on the lock, then enter.

The men are already somehow waiting inside. Search the corner for clues.
Room 2





Hand the notebook to Otto to learn the location of the explosives. Leave the Hotel, rush around the corner, and into the backyard, where they will learn they are too late.
They need a shovel to help put out the flames. Run into the Cellar and grab the shovel on the left side as soon as you enter. Back out and use the shovel on the snowbank to the left of the path. Toss two shovelfuls onto the fire behind Otto, then return into the Cellar.
Walk to the far back until you find Otto, then search for clues near the shelves.
Cellar




More explosives? Quickly place the bomb on the crate in the middle of the room so we can try to disarm it. There are four parts to this puzzle, which thankfully is not timed.
Click for each stage of disarming the bomb.
Stage 1: The first stage is simple enough: twist off the clock plate.

Stage 2: Spin the middle area until the sharpest point is down, allowing the outer ring to spin freely. Match the symbols to move on to the next stage.

Stage 3: Each ball barring must fall into the three holes. Once they are moving, they will not stop until they hit a wall. See below for the paths.

Stage 4: Flip the switches in the correct order. Follow the wires to the corresponding numbered bulbs to find the proper order.

With one less bad ending avoided, Anna and Otto fear they may have hidden more explosives in the Cabin. Backtrack out of the cellar, past the now burned shell of a shed, cross the front yard past the Hotel entrance, and through the gate to the Cabin. Inside, Otto looks exhausted and worried. Search the corner to see if there is any hint of any other danger.
Cabin




Escort Otto out of the Cabin and into the Hotel. Turn right into the Hall, then continue to the Fireplace Room. Give him the cigarettes we found to confirm that Otto hasn't seen them.
The Cold Sting of Betrayal
Anna wants to search Gerhard's Room again, although Otto doesn't. If you forgot, that is Room 4. Stroll upstairs, turn left, then enter the fourth room again. Search for clues.
Room 4



The ID confirms Anna's suspicions. Rush downstairs and to reception. Inspect the phone to discover that the traitor has already cut the lines. Run back upstairs, turn right and into Room 8. Search the wardrobe for something to defend her.
Room 8


Now that Anna feels safer leave Room 8 and check Room 7 for a radio.
Room 7


Place the radio on the table on the left side so Anna can attempt to call for help. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as she had planned. Give the man the gun, walk back downstairs, turn right into the Hall, and continue into the Fireplace Room.
After the struggle, run back through the Hall and into Reception. Check the medical cabinet (on the right wall near the keys with the red cross) and take the First Aid Kit from inside. Rush back to the Fireplace Room. Drag the First Aid Kit onto Otto to begin treating him.

Step 1: Tap on the heartbeat symbol as it reaches the alternating peaks three times. The hearts at the top left will fill on a successful tap. Missed beats will remove a previously filled heart.

Step 2: Next, drag the bottle on the right over the gauze on the left side of the kit.

Step 3: Now that the wound is clean, drag another gauze over it, followed by a bandage roll.

Step 4: Pull the bandage over his body three times.

With Otto stabilized, pass him the weapon on the floor so he can watch the traitor. Back out through the Hall, then enter the Kitchen. Search the pantry for some rope.
Kitchen





Be sure to collect any missing collectables, as some rooms will be inaccessible once you continue.
Return to the Fireplace Room with the Rope and use it on the man lying on the floor. When the Policeman arrives, give him the ID as proof. With the arrest of the traitor, the day will end. Unfortunately, the two other items in your inventory were left out of the current conclusion and are automatically removed.
The next day, stroll downstairs and enter the Hall to end the chapter.
