The people Gerhard smuggled through want to take over the hotel! But who are they?

A friend is not who he pretends to be. Can Anna survive the murderer?
Retiring From Crime
The story continues with Anna back in Zurich, typing her report of the incident she experienced firsthand at the Hotel Reger, until she is interrupted by a ringing phone. Pick up the phone to learn that the problems plaguing the Hotel may not yet be over.
She'll need the Diary, Car Keys, Camera, Map and Glove. Collect them and head out!
If you can't find all the items, we have the locations here!
Typically, Anna arrives at the hotel in another snow storm. Everything is locked up, and it's too dark to see anything, so head inside where it is warm. Anna wants to dive into the investigation, but the men decide it is better to warm up with some tea first. Take a right into the Dining Hall, where you'll learn about Gerhard, their third partner who went missing. The letter is in reception, but Otto has misplaced it. Perhaps a new pair of eyes can help.
Collectables available: Croix de Guerre, Iron Cross, Victory Medal
Otto was looking in the wrong place for the Note, but at least Anna found it. Hand the Note to Otto. It sounds like their partner made some very nasty friends. With the darkness casting a shadow over the best searching locations, venture to the second floor and enter Room 5 at the end of the hall. Use the key that Otto gave you on the lock to enter.
The next day, Anna will wake up late. She needs her gloves if they will be venturing outside. Check the dresser to find them.
Collectable available: Merit Cross for War Aid
After tearing apart the dresser to find the gloves, put them on Anna's reflection in the mirror. She'll quickly get dressed so she can join the search outside. Otto will meet her on the first floor and continue their partner's story in the Hall.
At the table, the men relax as Anna has to make her tea. Put the hot water from the teapot into the cup, then use the tea infuser to add the flavour, add a few cubes of sugar for taste, and stir with the spoon. Once done, the men describe Gerhard.
Searching for the Journal
Otto and Anna will search the cabin, while Father Lenz will check the cellar. Otto boarded up the building again, so a pry bar is needed. He last used one in Giovanni's old room, number 8. Head up to Room 8, where Otto put a rope up to discourage snoops. Lift the hook to allow for easier access, then enter. He must have placed it into the wardrobe by mistake. Odd that some of the singer's stuff is still here.
Collectables available: Mons Star
Now that they have a Pry Bar, venture outside the hotel, then check the left area for a gate leading to the cabin. Pull the bolt below the lever to the left, then open the gate. Snow blocks the way into the building, so a shovel is required. Go back to the previous area to find the Shovel on the right side. Otto must have hurt his back as he's getting Anna to do all the work. Use the Shovel to move the snow out of the way, then take the boards off the door with the Pry Bar.
Once inside, Anna will need to check for clues while Otto tries to keep warm. Check out the wardrobe in the corner.
What is a Mate Cup doing in a place like this? Otto confirms that no guests from South America have visited the hotel, nor has he served tea in the cabin. No journal here, so return to the Inn and check the opposite side to find the cellar door. Try going inside to discover it is locked and someone put a note on it. Tear it off and give it to Otto. It seems like they aren't alone. Go inside the Inn and check the Hall. Father Lenz is not here. Check the cupboard here for the key.
Return outside and open the Cellar door with the key. With the door open, head down into the cellar the through the next door. Flip the switch next to the 2nd door to illuminate this room, then proceed to the next one. You will need to move crates around to get to the door.
That is one way to leave a grim warning. Check the nearby area for clues of who did this.
Collectable available: British War Medal
Give the murder weapon we found to Otto. It is a Sturmabteilung weapon that the infamous Brownshirts often wielded.
The Death of a Friend
They need help, so Anna returns to the local town, but not much is accessible. Try to enter Gerhard's Bar to the right only to find it is locked. Good thing Anna has a lock-picking tool. Re-arrange the tumbler teeth on the bottom to match the top.
If you can't solve the pattern, we have the solution here!
Once inside, snoop around and check for anything that might help solve the mystery.
Collectable available: Escapees' Medal
That flag is not a great sign. Return to the hotel and find Otto in the Fireplace Room. You will have to click on him once to confirm he's okay, then again to talk to him. It sounds like it's time to resume the search for the journal. Head to room 4 next, although I think his old room should have been the first location checked. Investigate the bookcase in the back.
Collectable available: Constante Rossi
The Journal at last! Hand it to Otto to confirm it has the information they were seeking. Some names are familiar, so venture to Reception to get the Guest Book. You'll need to check through his mess in the back to find it.
Take the Guestbook back up to Room 4 and give it to Otto. Match the scrambled names from the right side with the ones in the left book.
The solution is here if needed.
It looks like everyone has been here before. It's late, so it's time to rest before Anna and Otto check into the former guests.
Overseas Origin
Anna has thought of a way to crack open this case but needs a map first. Check her dresser.
Venture downstairs and join Otto in the Hall. Anna will need a ruler to examine the map. Check the cupboard behind Otto for one.
Put the map and ruler on the table. After showing Otto her theory, a ghost walks in.
To Force an Eviction
The legends of his death appear to be only rumours. He says he's been running for his life. Can the bar prove his story? Trying to leave will show the car door is frozen shut. Return inside and ask Otto for hot water and grab the Teapot. Poor the hot water on the car door and return to town. Enter the now trashed bar and search for clues.
What is a Gaucho Hat doing in the bar? Another South American clue. Return to the Inn and enter the Hall. Give the black flag that Anna found much earlier to Otto, who believes a similar flag he discovered when cleaning one of the rooms. He left it in the kitchen pantry. Visit there next to search for it.
Bring the new flag back to the Hall and give it to Gerhard. Otto remembers Room 7 was a popular meeting place, so perhaps it hides more clues. While Otto checks the hidden stash of wine, check the wardrobe.
Collectable available: Military Merit Cross
What an odd puzzle box! Place the container on the ottoman in front of Otto. Swap the inner and outer pieces of the puzzle to solve it and unveil a fuse.
Click here for the solution to his puzzle.
Show the fuse to Otto. Are they planning to blow something up? Their leader stayed in Room 2, so revisit the reception desk and grab the key from the others hanging there. Backtrack to the entrance, tap on the door and use the key on the Room 2 door to enter. Check the cabinet for clues.
Collectable available: Legion of Honour
Interesting, a notebook with the same symbol as the flags Anna discovered earlier. Please give it to Otto so he can read it.
The Explosive Reveal
Did they put explosives in the cellar? That sounds dangerous! Begin the trek toward the cellar door only to find that they may be too late. Rush through the cellar door and grab the shovel just to the right of the stairs. Return outside, and put the shovel into the snow pile to the left of the door. Scoop two shovelfuls and toss them into the fire next to the door.
The storage building in the back is a loss. Check the cellar for more explosives before the whole Inn meets the same fate. Otto is already at the far back where the poor Priest rests.
How many times has Anna checked this area and not stumbled across them? Regardless, one is ticking, so better disarm it quickly. Place it on the crate next to Otto to examine it.
This puzzle has four stages. First, lift the clock face off. Second, spin the center part until all the pins are below the outer ring, then turn it to match the symbols. The third involves navigating a simple maze to get the three ball bearings into the holes. Lastly, follow the wires to light the four bulbs in order.
Having issues? We have the solution here.
With one less explosion, rush to check the far cabin for more! By the time they get there, Otto looks defeated. Check the wardrobe there to confirm their safety.
We've found more evidence of an Argentina connection. Otto wants to go to the police, but his partner decides to go and take the fall. Take Otto back to the Fireplace Room at the hotel.
Betrayal
Anna suspects their friend may be holding secrets. Give Otto the cigarettes that Anna found in the Cabin. Otto still trusts Gerhard, but Anna doesn't. Return to Room 4 and recheck the bookcase.
Anna was right! Rush to reception to call for help. Oh no, he cut the lines! No time to warn Otto, run to Room 8 and search for something to defend Anna from the betrayer!
Now that Anna feels a bit safer, return to the hallway and enter Room 7 and check the wardrobe for a way to call for help.
Place the radio we just found on the table full of cards. The traitor interrupts Anna before she can do anything and demands the gun. The story would be over now if Anna wasn't so lucky and the villain so gullible. With the weapon out of Anna's possession, there is no choice but to back up and return to the Fireplace Room to meet up with Otto again.
If the murderer had removed Anna when he had the chance, he wouldn't be unconscious now! At least Otto is a good man. I wish you could play this part safe and intelligent, but rushing to save Otto is your only option. Get to reception to find the First Aid Kit. Check the tiny box to the right of the room keys to find the First Aid Kit.
Rush back to Otto and use the medical supplies to save him. First, click the heartbeat symbol as the line gets to the spikes three times. Next, grab the container on the right side of the kit and pour it on the gauze on the left side. Now that the blood is magically gone, you will need to take more gauze out and place it on the wound, then do the same with a roll of bandages. You will need to wrap the bandages around Otto 3 times.
With Otto stabilized, pass him the weapon off the floor, then head to the kitchen to get some rope. You'll need to investigate in the pantry to find some.
Bring the rope back to the Fireplace Room and tie the traitor up. Thankfully the Policeman arrives before he wakes up. Give the officer the ID so Anna can explain the details of what happened. Someone wakes up from his nap, makes a few threats, and goes to jail. Otto recovers while Anna stays the night in a hotel with explosives underneath it all by herself, like everything is safe in the world.
Once Anna awakens, find Otto in the Hall to complete this chapter.
