Almost all games have enemies, most have some sort of creatures to fight. This game is no different, except here you can also befriend them; work at the relationship with them enough and they will even help you in their own unique way. Some will help you in your fields, others will create items you can harvest from them, and some are built to help you fight.

To start, you will need the brush from Kross which he will give you the next day after you get the Whale Island; just water the sparkling plant by the clock tower to get there. You will also need to build a barn to hold them, which is purchased from Kross for a small sum of 1000 gold and 10 lumber. Be sure to have lots of feed for them or they will and they will not help you out. Buy fodder from Erik or plant your own and cut when it is matured (recommended). As your amount of pets increase, you will need to plant more fodder and buy larger expansions for your barn. In order to get them to higher levels, which means they help you more or produce higher quality items, you will need to brush them every day.

Breeding monsters requires use of any type of rune stone on the creature you wish to duplicate; you will need an empty barn slot to breed a monster. On use, you will create a new name and an egg will appear in the barn. Depending on your runey prosperity, the average gestation period is 10 days. On birth, the new creature will have a higher level of friendship than it's mother, and oddly enough, can be breed immediately again if you wish. Note that even the eggs use feed, so make sure you have enough for the entire time.

When helping you in the fields, your pets will follow a schedule that will remain the same every day, including holidays.
