Arrow: Vendetta Review

The Huntress is Born

I am sure Huntress fans hoped for something more for Helena's character, but after the events of the previous episode, and Oliver's great history with relationships, we all knew that it couldn't last.

From the very beginning of the episode it was obvious that Oliver was going to have his hands full with Helena, and even though it appeared to be improving for a brief part, it soon got out of control as expected. I wonder, how long it would have lasted though if the double date never happened?

The idea that Oliver is creating a new batch of heroes is very neat, and it fits with the new style this series is going for. We know that a few others are already waiting in the sidelines to be unleashed too, but it will likely take time for those to happen. Why he decided to give her a mask, but yet he hasn't put one on himself; it has to be easier than painting on green make-up and then washing it off every time.

I like the idea of Tommy putting his clubbing skills to good use now that he is broke. Unlike Oliver, he has much more experience in the scene, which will allow the cover for Arrow HQ to be much more successful. It would be difficult to explain why he's staying out late if the club is empty, although Tommy will probably find out his identity much quicker this way too. This plan may end up coming back to haunt him.

Walter's digging had to the most revealing part of the whole episode. He may have been a bit hard on Felicity at the start, but what she uncovered led to a whirlwind of discoveries which might change the dynamic of Arrow's fight. I doubt it will take long for Walter to figure out that Arrow is going after the list, unless Walter mentions it to the wrong person. If I was him, I would give Felicity a huge raise to keep her loyal, just to be on the safe side. Perhaps some extra Danger Pay is in order.

"Vendetta" had all the kick-ass action and characters that comic book fans want, the cheesy romance that the CW is famous for, and the mystery needed to keep viewers interested, but it will disappoint Huntress fans, especially with the hype surrounding her appearance.
