Sanctuary - Untouchable 2011-10-24 By Tyler Olson |

The U.N. sends an inspector to The Sanctuary to go over all their work from the recent incidents and threatens that they will cut off their funding. Erika also makes an unexpected visit to give Henry some big news. After the last episode, I am a bit more critical of the direction the series. It seemed like the events of the season finale and premiere were almost completely wasted. Instead, they decided to continue on as if nothing even happened, and only mentioning it in short conversations to say that it actually did happened. This episode doesn't do too much to silence my fears for the future episodes, but it does give a small hope that they will eventually fix it. When Erika arrived at the door, there was something about her face that just screamed "I'm pregnant", so the reveal a few minutes later wasn't any surprise. Of course, the pregnancy isn't normal and there has to be issues with it. Does this mean that she will be a regular on the show now that Kate is gone to Hollow Earth? I doubt they will allow a pregnant werewolf with hair-raising mood swings to help out in operations. Once again, we get to experience the big, scary, and mean government representatives that are paying a visit to flex their muscles and show who's boss. Seriously, there must be a certain point that writers can bash the government before they start getting investigated. So, this new U.N. sanctioned bully wants to see everything that the Sanctuary is up to and recap the latest mission they were on. Of course, they don't play nice and start dissecting everything they say and do so they can use it against them. Most of the investigation was around the foiled capture of the telepathic abnormal that controlled everyone during the uprising. The way that Will and Magnus spun the story to get the reaction they were looking for was very well done. For a while, I actually thought that Will might actually of betrayed Helen, although I did remember specifically on how much he hated being the boss, so I was a bit confused on why. Gladly it all fell together in the end, and they finally took a step in the right direction by telling them to get the hell out. I am actually surprised that they played along with the rules for this long. I am hopeful that this will be played out properly and not something that no meaning on the future episodes again. This was a significantly better episode than last weeks, but only time will tell if it will be enough to recover from the temporal headache that was created from the first two episodes this season.
