Sanctuary: Sanctuary For None - Part 2 Review
Everyone's secret is revealed during this explosive finale.

Thankfully, this episode gave us many much needed answers after last weeks mess of questions. Everyone's plan, including Helen's was finally revealed, answering a season long string of questions, which finally makes all those odd episodes worth while. After the events of this episode, nothing will be the same.

The story was actually split into three parts; Nikola and Henry solving SCUI's new trap in order to rescue the abnormals, Will finding out what Helen was hiding, and Caleb's master plan to rule over the human race.

Tesla and Henry were charged with the task of finding out what SCIU was up to and to stop them in time. Thankfully when Nikola found out that it was his own invention that they were going to use against them, he finally got out of his stupor and fought tooth and nail (literally at times) to stop everything from falling apart. Even though I found his latest invention interesting, as well as their solution to hold it back long enough to rescue them, it was the fighting scenes at the end that were the most enjoyable. Nothing like a Henry and Nikola tearing into insurgents with their hands and jaws to get the heart pumping.

The most interesting part of the episode, for me, was the what Will figured out about Helen. It appears that she wasn't hiding away for over a hundred years after all, but was instead using her mother's name to build new ties, a vast amount of wealth and knowledge, and a completely new plan. All of that not changing the future was, in a way, a lie. The events that we saw over the last 4 years still happened... or did they? They did mention she interacted with Tesla in New York at one time, so perhaps a few of the things we saw might have been a smokescreen of what was really at play.

Caleb's story was the most action-packed part of the episode. He brought a new virus in that would have opened up everyones recessive abnormal genes, and created vast armies to enslave the human race. So much for just wanting to build a community. Bigfoot made the perfect spy, and handed over the evidence as soon as he could. I really didn't expect him to suddenly change again so quickly. After seeing the evolution of this character after so long, it is sad to see him go.

The resulting battle at the Sanctuary was by far the highlight of the episode. The aforementioned hand to hand shredding was very cool, but it was Helen's final battle with Caleb that brought a most satisfying close to this seasons story. Seeing him skewered and lifted into the air, then helpless while the self-destruct count-down completed, was a great way to end his reign as this seasons big villain. I wish they would have explained how Helen survived that explosion since they never showed Henry actually getting that shield generator working.

Gladly, this was the season finale this series needed. No major cliffhanger, just a big bang to take out the old, and a wondrous introduction to the new. In ways, if there is no season 5, I think most fans will be satisfied with the conclusion, but at the same time, it leaves a lot of new opportunities for a next season. Let's hope that we do get to see the insides of this new home and what wonders still await, what's left of the team, in the future. I am still hopeful to see some of the previously dead characters return next season, too. For now, we have to wait for news on whether it will be renewed or not.
